I posted this blog on Tuesday but had some technical difficulty, so I’ve decided to share an edited version again today for those of you who missed my exciting news.
I believe I have been entrusted with a powerful message to share with the world. A message that I have told only in part on my blog but will tell in its entirety in the book I am writing.
It was just over two years ago that I felt God’s call to write a book about the mighty work He has accomplished in my life. And though I’d love to say that I immediately complied with God’s request to write this book, and that I immediately pursued my calling, I didn’t. For several months, I fought it. Like Jonah, I ran from God’s call. But one Sunday morning, as I stood in church singing my heart out to God during worship, God spoke plainly, and I knew without a doubt that it was time to stop running and follow Him. And so I did. The next morning, I wrote, “My rebellion is over. I choose to follow God’s call on my life.” And that was it. I was all in.
But God was calling me to do something I knew nothing about.
It’s funny how God works sometimes. It seems God deliberately chooses the least likely candidate to do His work. He chooses a candidate with little or no ability within themselves, so there would be no mistaking who ultimately accomplished the work.
I can honestly say that I had absolutely no idea how to go about writing and publishing a book. I was in complete reliance upon God. I needed Him to lead and equip me, and ultimately He did.
Throughout the last two years, I have not only learned what I need to know about writing and publishing, but God graced me with Jessie Kirkland, my amazing literary agent; provided an opportunity to work with a wonderful professional editor; and most recently brought along the right publishing house to publish my book. It just boggles my mind.
During the last few weeks, my literary agent and I have been negotiating my book contract with Kregel Publications. And I’m excited to tell you that I signed with them last Friday, which means my book is going to be published and will be released fall 2015!! I don’t know all the particulars at this point, but I do know that when it’s released, my book should be able to be purchased where most books are sold, and I will certainly pass along more information as my release date nears.
God is good, isn’t He! I just love how faithful He is.
I’m excited to see what God continues to do through the story He has entrusted to me. Though I’d love to see many lives change through the word of my testimony, ultimately, what I want is to bring glory to God––to shout His name from the mountaintops––so that all may come to know that He is God and that He is good. That He redeems the seemingly unredeemable. And that He loves us with a relentless, unconditional love unparalleled by anything else.
This is our God. A God unknown to many, and so I’d appreciate any prayers for my upcoming book that you have to offer! I pray my book will help others to come to know our amazing God and to help them to seek His redemption in their lives. We all know that the prayers of many are powerful. So, if you could, please join me in this prayer.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me. I hope, as my book is released, that we can join together to spread this message of God’s amazing grace.
I am so blessed by each of you!
