I’d like to take a moment to welcome you to LaurieCoombs.org!

I write on various topics on this blog, but my primary focus is on following Jesus and forgiveness.

Truly, Jesus does amazing things when we choose to follow Him.

Much of what I write pertains to my life story infused with bits and pieces of what I’m learning along the way. I certainly don’t have it all figured out. And I hope I never pretend to, but Jesus has shown me so much.

Grace upon grace has been poured out upon my life. And I just can’t keep it to myself.

Honestly, my story is not one I would have chosen for myself, yet I am thankful for it nonetheless. As you’ll see, the story God created in my life is one that displays the forgiveness, healing, and redemption of God.

It is my hope and prayer that the words I write encourage you to follow Jesus wherever He may lead you. That they will give you the courage needed to follow despite fear or resistance. For, it is then that we begin to live the life Jesus died for us to have––a life full of joy and peace.

If you have a moment, be sure to look around. You may want to start with my most popular posts found below.

I hope you enjoy!

My Biography

I grew up in Carson City, Nevada, a small town close to just about any outdoor activity you can imagine. And my family and I certainly took advantage of this.

Together, we enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, snow skiing, waterskiing, and so much more! Living 25 minutes from Lake Tahoe certainly has its perks!

I came from a “good” family, and honestly, we never imagined what was to come. In 2000, my dad was murdered, and our lives were turned up-side-down.

Honestly, I didn’t think any good could come out of such a terrible thing, but I was wrong.

God has done, and continues to do, a mighty work in my life!

Today, I consider myself to be blessed beyond measure. I am the wife to the man of my dreams, the stay-at-home mommy to two beautiful little girls (if I do say so myself), the future mommy to one (possibly two) more babies from Ethiopia, but most importantly, I am the daughter of the King and a follower of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

There is so much to my story that you can read throughout my blog (start with the posts above, if you’d like). There’s simply too much to put in a short bio, but for now, I’ll say this:

I know first hand that it is God’s intention to take the horrible chapters of our past and create beauty out of our darkness.

I think God is going to do amazing, incredible, unbelievable things through your life experience. I’m so sorry you lost your dad at such a young age, but you are living proof that our God can and WILL work all things for the good of those who love Him!

Incredible story. Incredible God. Thank you for sharing your journey of healing and forgiveness with us. I hope you write more on your adoption story. Our good friends were told that they should be able to go to Ethiopia to get their baby later this fall. They have not been able to carry a baby full term and are very, very excited about the possibility of a family group. Every blessing, Kelly

Praying for you and your friends!
