We’re off to Africa!

Off to Africa

Hello friends!

I know it’s been few weeks since my last post, and for that, I sincerely apologize. I don’t usually allow life to throw me off my game this much, but some exciting things have been happening behind the scenes. As many of you already know, my family and I have been in the process of adopting for five and a half years. It has certainly been quite a journey, but this trek we’ve been on is just about to get crazy awesome.

I’m super excited that I finally get to say that we have our court date!! Yep. We’re going to Uganda to begin the process of bringing Baby Girl home! Jesus has most certainly done it. Though the journey is not yet over, He has continually thrown open each and every door since Baby Girl was born last September to bring her home to us. This leg of our journey has gone much smoother than the first five years did, and for that, we are incredibly thankful!

This next season is full of unknowns. Quite honestly, the only given is that there is no given. Finishing thing up in Uganda may keep me out of country for a considerable amount of time this spring, or it could be fast and smooth. I really don’t know. What I do know is that my family and I finally get to hold our Baby Girl. We get to love on the many other orphans in her orphanage. We get to be with the incredible people of Uganda and explore what many call the Pearl of Africa. We truly are blessed beyond measure.

With that said, I must ask for grace. Life just got exponentially more exciting and messy, and though it is my hope to continue writing regular weekly posts, I may skip some here or there. I sure hope you’ll stick with me! I hope to write about the things God has been teaching me throughout this process and whatever else God lays on my heart. Being in and out of the country for a little while may lend itself to more writing or less. I suppose I’ll just have to see.

Thank you for walking this leg of my journey with me. Any prayers you can offer for safety, a quick and smooth process, or anything else the Lord puts on your heart is greatly appreciated!!!

Many many blessings to you,

Laurie Coombs
